Tanner Semones, O.D., is a board-certified optometrist at Lowcountry Eye Specialists, where he provides compassionate, comprehensive eye care for patients of all ages in Ladson, South Carolina. He is committed to helping patients protect their vision through preventive care, early diagnosis, and personalized treatment plans tailored to their unique needs.
Dr. Semones has experience diagnosing and managing a wide range of eye conditions, including dry eye disease, eye infections, cataracts, diabetic eye disease, macular degeneration, and glaucoma. He believes in educating patients about their eye health and working collaboratively to preserve clear, healthy vision for years to come.
A South Carolina native, Dr. Semones earned his bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences with honors from Clemson University before receiving his Doctor of Optometry degree from the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee. He then completed an Ocular Primary Care Residency with an emphasis on ocular disease at the WJB Dorn Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Columbia, South Carolina, where he received advanced training in diagnosing and treating complex eye conditions.
Having grown up in the Upstate and spent many vacations in the Charleston area, Dr. Semones is excited to care for patients in the Lowcountry community. Outside the office, he enjoys spending time on the water, kayaking, water skiing, and fishing. He also loves being with family and friends and is always happy to join a pickup volleyball game.
